Knight Foundation: Webinar Series

Creative direction for a four-part series, took the complex issues of inclusive city-building and paired it with a common relatable theme and colour. Series uses abstract themes (plants, balloons, bicycles, water features) to illustrate city-building concepts:

• Webinar #1: Collaborating Across Difference
• Webinar #2: Storytelling + City-Building
• Webinar #3: Inclusive Community Engagement
• Webinar #4: Right to Urban Beauty

Series #1: Collaborating Across Difference

Abstract green plants used as a metaphor for growth, and representing different forms of communication. Contrasted natural elements with technical illustration lines for visual interest and texture.

Series #4: Right to Urban Beauty

Blue water features express the right to urban beauty. Water is functional, necessary, but also calming and beautiful. I reflected how people, plants and animals interact with the element; a much needed aesthetic in public spaces. Watercolour style koi fish and wavy graphic lines subconsciously underscore the concept.

“Huge thanks to Karen, for the striking design work for this series. Received positive comments on brand approach from the sneak peek shared.”
