Community Forests International

Community Forests International is a non-profit environmental start-up, working to connect people and their communities to the forests that sustain them. In an effort to highlight their initiatives and raise funds to help build a Rural Innovation Campus in Pemba, Tanzania. Designed a brochure capturing how community leaders come together to share their knowledge through hands-on demonstration and rural incubation. The piece is driven by the large scale rich colour photography that brings the reader into the context.

Donors received a personalized “thank-you” card with a copy of the brochure printed on an FSC-certified stock (30% post-consumer recycled fibre), manufactured with renewable energy and is biodegradable. CFI surpassed their targeted goals and raised the professionalism and awareness of the organization. After the first year dedicated to building a clear vision and direction, CFI has taken steps toward making their vision a reality.

“This is truly an amazing document. I can't believe how good you make our work look. I’d support us if I flipped through this brochure! I can’t thank you enough for all the time and energy you’ve put into this. Beyond just delivering I know that you truly care about our work and it shows. The printed material holds a very sacred value in our office and has set an impossibly high bar for all our publications moving forward. You do truly beautiful and inspiring work. That brochure is the best looking thing in our office!”

“Karen, First of all, let me tell you that I do not think I have ever seen a more compelling brochure. It is simply perfect. Thanks again for giving up your weekend to do this. It means a tremendous amount to us because it will be so very important in our campaign to raise money for this venture. Again, this brochure is wonderful. And by the way you really made my sketch look great!”
