Concepts: Elkford Covers x Dividers

Elkford is a district municipality in the southeast region of British Columbia in the Rocky Mountain range, located at the “start of the road” on Highway 43 with a population of approximately 3,000. A community largely based around mining or mining support businesses as its primary economic driver, with four mine sites within the Elk Valley. The District has undergone a master planning and infrastructure upgrade in the downtown core (property boundary, sidewalks, public realm enhancements, and road repaving).

They promote themselves as being ‘wild at heart’. If you haven’t noticed, my work always has a thread in nature—and I love elk! The RFP called for architectural and mixed-use land development design services for two projects.

Creative direction, image sourcing and layout of digital covers x dividers—I explored different images/views, ultimately choosing a darker / winter directon to reflect the current season and leading firm’s brand. The dividers highlight nature, with an element that leads from one to the next.
